PREPARATION:

Before commencing, all surfaces must be clean, dry and strong

enough to support the weight of the tiles and the adhesive.
Remove all loose dust, dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants
likely to affect adhesion.
UNDERFLOOR HEATING:
On concrete floors, the heating element should be embedded in
a layer of adhesive and allowed to set prior to fixing tiles.
TILE FIXING:
Add 4 Parts FastSet Flexible to 1 Part cold clean tap water by
weight in a clean mixing vessel. Mix to a smooth creamy consistency
either by hand or using a slow mechanical mixing paddle. Mix only
sufficient that can be used in 40 mins. Product that has started
to set must be discarded.Apply adhesive to the floor using a
notched trowel such that a continuous bed of adhesive between
3mm and 6mm is achieved when tiles are applied.Adhesive
should also be applied to the back of deep studded tiles to
cover the studs. Ensure the adhesive is still moist when tiles are
pressed into place. Check occasionally there is good transfer of
adhesive onto the back of the tile. Clean surplus adhesive from
the tiles and joints as soon as possible as set adhesive will prove
difficult to remove later. Clean all tools after use.
INFORMATION
Ultra ProRapid RS is a rapid set, polymer modified, premium grade cementitious tile adhesive for both interior and exterior use. It is ideal for natural stone, porcelain and ceramic tiles where exceptional bond and rapid set are essential.
The product is suitable for both wet and dry conditions and is formulated to adhere to most common substrates including screwed and fixed over-boarded wooden floors. Ultra ProRapid RS conforms to the requirements of EN 12004 Class C2F and is available in grey and white.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure that the tiling surface is clean, dry and firm. It should be free of dust, dirt, oil, grease or any other contaminants. Please ensure that the surface is strong enough to support the weight of the tile and adhesive. To encourage best adhesion to your substrate when applying adhesive to porous surfaces it is advisable that the area be primed first. Ultra Flexi-Prime is an ideal surface primer, as it will help to prevent water penetration, and increase bond strength.
MIXING
Ultra ProRapid RS should be added slowly to clean water (20kg White: 4.8 litres of water; 20kg Grey: 4.4 litres of water) and mixed thoroughly to give a slump free easily worked mortar. Once mixed the mortar is immediately ready for use and has a working time of approximately 20 minutes at 20°C. Mix only sufficient material to be used within the working time, do not remix or rewet.
APPLICATION
Apply the adhesive to a thickness of 3-6mm up to 1m2 at a time. On internal walls use a notched trowel leaving solid ribs, i.e. 3mm x 3mm at 6mm centres for mosaics, 5mm x 5mm at 10mm centres for wall tiles, and 8mm x 8mm at 16mm centres for floor tiles. On floors and external areas, use the solid bed trowel method.
Large studded tiles should be ‘buttered’. Bed the tiles in with a slight twisting action. Leave spaces between the tiles for grouting (approximately 1-3mm for walls and 2-20mm for floors). Clean off excess adhesive from the tile face and grout lines with a damp cloth before it sets.
CLEANING
Tools should be thoroughly cleaned in water to remove excess materials immediately after use.
GROUTING
Leave for a minimum of 2 hours before grouting and/or walking on the tiles. This time may be extended on impervious surfaces. Instarmac’s technical team will be happy to suggest the best Ultra Grout for ultimate performance.

Ultra ProRapid RS is a rapid set, high strength, wall & floor tile adhesive.
